The Lip Lift Procedure with Dr. Sof
THE PROCEDURE
Considering a lip lift to enhance the appearance of your lips and achieve a more youthful smile? Discover what to expect when you choose Dr. Sofiane Rimouche for your lip lift journey:
Consultation and Evaluation: Your lip lift journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Sof. During this initial meeting, Dr. Sof will listen attentively to your concerns, assess your lip anatomy, and discuss your goals for lip enhancement. He will perform a thorough examination to determine if a lip lift is the most suitable option to address your needs.
Preparation: On the day of your lip lift procedure, you’ll arrive at the surgical facility prepared for your surgery. Dr. Sof and his team will ensure you’re comfortable and relaxed before administering anaesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
Surgical Technique: Dr. Sof will employ advanced surgical techniques to enhance the appearance of your lips and create a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing smile. Depending on your unique anatomy and aesthetic goals, Dr. Sof may recommend a sub nasal lip lift or a corner lip lift procedure.
Subnasal Lip Lift: For patients seeking to enhance the upper lip and achieve a fuller appearance, Dr. Sof may recommend a sub nasal lip lift. This procedure involves making a small incision beneath the base of the nose to shorten the distance between the nose and upper lip, resulting in a more defined lip contour and a natural-looking smile.
Corner Lip Lift: For patients looking to elevate the corners of the mouth and reduce the appearance of a downturned smile, Dr. Sof may recommend a corner lip lift procedure. This involves making small incisions at the corners of the mouth to lift and reposition the tissues, creating a more youthful and uplifting smile.
Closing Incisions and Recovery: Following the procedure, Dr. Sof will close the incisions with sutures and apply dressings as needed. You’ll be closely monitored in the recovery area before being discharged with detailed post-operative instructions. Dr. Sof will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and ensure a smooth recovery process.
Results: As you heal from the lip lift procedure, you’ll begin to notice the enhanced appearance of your lips and smile. Dr. Sof’s approach aims to achieve natural-looking results that enhance your features while maintaining harmony and balance.

THINGS TO AVOID AFTER LIP LIFT SURGERY
The following five steps will support your recovery
- Touching or Rubbing the Surgical Site: Avoid touching or rubbing the area around your lips to prevent irritation, infection, or disruption to the healing process.
- Excessive Talking or Mouth Movements: Minimise excessive talking, laughing, or other mouth movements in the days following surgery to prevent strain on the incision site and promote proper healing.
- Smoking or Alcohol Consumption: Refrain from smoking or consuming alcohol as these activities can impair healing, increase the risk of complications, and delay the recovery process.
- Strenuous Activities: Avoid strenuous activities, such as heavy lifting, vigorous exercise, or activities that put pressure on the lips, to prevent discomfort and minimise the risk of complications.
- Sun Exposure: Protect your lips from direct sunlight and UV radiation by avoiding prolonged sun exposure and using sunscreen or protective clothing when outdoors. Sun exposure can increase swelling, prolong healing, and lead to hyperpigmentation of the surgical site.
POST OP LIP LIFT SURGERY AFTERCARE
It is vital all of our patients closely follow these steps
- Follow Doctor's Instructions: Adhere strictly to the post-operative instructions provided by Dr. Sof. This includes medication schedules, wound care procedures, and activity restrictions.
- Keep the Surgical Area Clean: Clean the surgical area gently as instructed by Dr. Sof to prevent infection. Use a mild, non-irritating cleanser and avoid harsh scrubbing.
- Apply Ice Packs: Apply ice packs or cold compresses to the lips as recommended by Dr. Sof to reduce swelling and discomfort. Be sure to wrap the ice pack in a cloth to prevent direct contact with the skin.
- Stay Hydrated and Eat Soft Foods: Drink plenty of fluids and stick to a soft diet in the days following surgery to aid in hydration and promote comfortable healing. Avoid hot, spicy, or hard foods that may irritate the surgical site.
- Attend Follow-up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with Dr. Sof to monitor your healing progress, address any concerns or complications, and receive further guidance on post-operative care. These appointments are crucial for ensuring optimal results and a smooth recovery process.

FAQS
A Lip Lift is a procedure that creates a more feminine upper lip by removing tissue from under the nose which lifts the upper lip up and improves the shape
The procedure will take around 30-45 minutes and is performed under local anaesthetic (you are awake).
Patients can usually resume their normal activities after 7-10 days. Try to sleep with extra pillows and avoid bending over for the first 5 days. The lip area may be uncomfortable and swollen for the first week.
Results can be seen immediately. Some swelling is expected in the first 3-5 days before the final results are evident between week 2 and 3.
It’s essential to wait until Dr. Sof gives the green light before applying makeup or using lip products. This usually occurs after the initial healing phase to prevent irritation or infection of the surgical site.
