THE PROCEDURE
Considering a fat transfer to the face to restore volume and rejuvenate your facial appearance? Discover what to expect when you choose Dr. Sofiane Rimouche for your fat transfer to face journey:
Consultation and Evaluation: Your fat transfer to face journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Sof. During this initial meeting, Dr. Sof will listen attentively to your concerns, assess your facial anatomy, and discuss your goals for facial rejuvenation. He will perform a thorough examination to determine if a fat transfer to the face is the most suitable option to address your needs.
Preparation: On the day of your fat transfer to face procedure, you’ll arrive at the surgical facility prepared for your surgery. Dr. Sof and his team will ensure you’re comfortable and relaxed before administering anaesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
Harvesting of Fat: Dr. Sof will first harvest fat from a donor site on your body, such as the abdomen or thighs, using gentle liposuction techniques. The harvested fat is then carefully processed and purified to prepare it for injection into the face.
Injection of Fat: Dr. Sof will strategically inject the purified fat into targeted areas of your face to restore volume, improve contours, and rejuvenate your appearance. Common areas for fat transfer include the cheeks, temples, under-eye hollows, and nasolabial folds.
Sculpting and Blending: Dr. Sof will sculpt and blend the transferred fat to ensure natural-looking results and achieve harmonious facial proportions. He will meticulously contour the injected fat to create smooth transitions between treated areas and enhance overall facial aesthetics.
Closing Incisions and Recovery: Following the procedure, Dr. Sof will close any incisions with sutures and apply dressings as needed. You’ll be closely monitored in the recovery area before being discharged with detailed post-operative instructions. Dr. Sof will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and ensure a smooth recovery process.

THE BENEFITS
You may choose to undergo a Fat Transfer to Face for a variety of reasons which are personal to you. These may include:
Fat transfer to the face provides a natural way to rejuvenate the facial appearance by restoring lost volume, filling in wrinkles and fine lines, and enhancing facial contours. Dr. Sof’s meticulous technique ensures that the transferred fat blends seamlessly with surrounding tissues, resulting in a youthful and refreshed appearance.
Unlike temporary dermal fillers, fat transfer to the face offers long-lasting results. The transferred fat cells integrate with the existing tissue and can provide enduring volume enhancement and rejuvenation for years to come. Patients can enjoy sustained improvements in facial aesthetics without the need for frequent touch-up treatments.
Fat transfer allows for precise and customisable facial enhancement tailored to each patient’s unique facial anatomy and aesthetic goals. Dr. Sof carefully sculpts and contours the face using the patient’s own fat, ensuring natural-looking results that harmonise with the individual’s features and proportions.
Since fat transfer utilises the patient’s own fat cells, there is minimal risk of allergic reactions or adverse reactions compared to synthetic fillers. The procedure offers a safe and natural alternative for facial rejuvenation, with no risk of rejection or allergic response.
RISKS
While fat transfer to the face is generally considered safe, like any surgical procedure, it carries certain risks and potential complications. With his experience and attention to detail, Dr. Sof takes every precaution to minimise risks and ensure the highest level of safety during the procedure. He conducts thorough pre-operative assessments, utilises advanced surgical techniques, and adheres to strict hygiene protocols to mitigate potential complications. *During the consultation process you will have a detailed discussion about all of the potential risks and benefits.
THINGS TO AVOID AFTER A FAT TRANSFER TO FACE SURGERY
The following five steps will support your recovery
- Excessive Sun Exposure: Avoid prolonged sun exposure, especially in the first few weeks following surgery. UV rays can damage the delicate skin and compromise the healing process. Wear sunscreen with a high SPF, protective clothing, and hats when outdoors.
- Smoking and Alcohol Consumption: Refrain from smoking and limit alcohol consumption during the recovery period. Smoking can impair blood circulation and delay healing, while alcohol can increase inflammation and interfere with the body's natural healing processes.
- Vigorous Exercise: Avoid strenuous activities, heavy lifting, and vigorous exercise for several weeks after surgery. These activities can increase blood pressure and disrupt the healing of the transferred fat, leading to potential complications or uneven results.
- Sleeping on Your Face: Avoid sleeping on your face or applying pressure to the treated areas while lying down. Sleeping on your back with your head elevated can help minimise swelling and promote optimal healing.
- Facial Manipulation: Refrain from touching, rubbing, or massaging the treated areas unnecessarily. Manipulating the face can disrupt the healing process and affect the survival of the transferred fat cells. Follow Dr. Sof's instructions for gentle cleansing and skincare routines to maintain optimal results.
POST OP FAT TRANSFER TO FACE SURGERY AFTERCARE
It is vital all of our patients closely follow these steps
- Follow Dr. Sof's Instructions: Adhere closely to all post-operative instructions provided by Dr. Sof. This includes guidelines for wound care, medication usage, and activity restrictions. Following Dr. Sof's recommendations is crucial for a successful recovery.
- Manage Swelling: Expect some swelling and bruising after surgery. Apply cold compresses or ice packs to the treated areas as directed by Dr. Sof to help reduce swelling and discomfort. Avoid applying ice directly to the skin to prevent frostbite.
- Protect Your Skin: Protect your skin from sun exposure by wearing sunscreen with a high SPF and avoiding direct sunlight, especially during peak hours. Sun protection is essential to prevent pigmentation changes and promote proper healing.
- Stay Hydrated and Eat a Healthy Diet: Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and support the healing process. Eat a nutritious diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains to provide essential nutrients for tissue repair and regeneration.
- Attend Follow-up Appointments: Attend all scheduled follow-up appointments with Dr. Sof to monitor your progress and ensure that your recovery is proceeding as expected. Dr. Sof will assess your healing, address any concerns, and provide further guidance on caring for your skin and maintaining your results.

FAQS
Fat transfer to face is a minimally invasive treatment that’s used to rejuvenate areas of the face. Liposuction is used to remove fat cells from the donor area – usually the stomach or thighs. Then they’re cleansed, processed and injected into the face.
The procedure will take around 1 – 2 hours, you will either be treated as a Day case or you may need to spend the night, Dr Sof will discuss this with you at your consultation
To protect your body, and get the best result, look after yourself. | Avoid vigorous activities after your operation. | Protect your wounds as you are told to. | Putting on weight or being pregnant will affect the results. | Maintain a healthy weight and level of exercise.
At first your face and neck skin may seem too tight. This usually settles down within six weeks of the operation. Most patients are pleased with the final result, but some find their new shape difficult to get used to. This may happen to you. You cannot judge the final result of your facelift or neck lift for about six to nine months. Even if the operation is a success, you may need another operation in the future to have the skin tightened again.
Patients want to know if a single session of Fat Transfer to Face surgery will be sufficient to achieve their aesthetic goals or if multiple sessions may be necessary. Dr. Sof will evaluate each patient’s facial anatomy, desired outcomes, and available fat reserves to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. In some cases, additional sessions may be recommended to achieve optimal results.
