THE PROCEDURE
Considering inverted nipple correction to address concerns with nipple inversion and improve breast aesthetics? Discover what to expect when you choose Dr. Sofiane Rimouche for your inverted nipple correction journey:
Consultation and Evaluation: Your inverted nipple correction journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Sof. During this initial meeting, Dr. Sof will listen attentively to your concerns, assess the severity of your nipple inversion, and discuss your goals for the correction procedure. He will perform a thorough examination to determine the most suitable techniques tailored to your needs.
Preparation: On the day of your inverted nipple correction procedure, you’ll arrive at the surgical facility prepared for your surgery. Dr. Sof and his team will ensure you’re comfortable and relaxed before administering anaesthesia to ensure your comfort throughout the procedure.
Surgical Technique: Dr. Sof will employ specialized surgical techniques to release the tissues causing nipple inversion and restore a natural, outward projection to the nipples. Depending on the severity of the inversion and your individual anatomy, Dr. Sof may utilise various approaches, such as the release of constricting bands or tissue grafting, to achieve the desired outcome.
Release of Constricting Bands: In cases where tight bands of tissue are causing nipple inversion, Dr. Sof will perform a release procedure to free the nipple and allow it to project outward. This involves carefully cutting the constricting bands to release tension and allow the nipple to assume its natural position.
Tissue Grafting: For cases of severe nipple inversion or insufficient tissue, Dr. Sof may utilise tissue grafting techniques to augment the nipple and provide additional support. This involves using tissue from another area of the body to create a more prominent and aesthetically pleasing nipple projection.
Closing Incisions and Recovery: Following the procedure, Dr. Sof will close the incisions with sutures and apply dressings as needed. You’ll be closely monitored in the recovery area before being discharged with detailed post-operative instructions. Dr. Sof will schedule follow-up appointments to monitor your progress, address any concerns, and ensure a smooth recovery process.
Results: As you heal from the inverted nipple correction procedure, you’ll begin to notice the improved appearance and projection of your nipples. Dr. Sof’s approach aims to provide aesthetically pleasing results that enhance your confidence and self-image.

THINGS TO AVOID AFTER AN INVERTED NIPPLE CORRECTION SURGERY
The following five steps will support your recovery
- Direct Pressure on Nipples: Avoid applying direct pressure or trauma to the nipples, as this can disrupt the healing process and affect the final results of the surgery.
- Excessive Moisture or Friction: Prevent excessive moisture or friction on the nipples by avoiding tight clothing or abrasive fabrics that could irritate the surgical site and prolong healing.
- Sun Exposure: Protect the nipples from direct sunlight and UV exposure, as sunburn can lead to discomfort and potential complications during the healing process.
- Strenuous Activities: Refrain from engaging in strenuous activities or heavy lifting that could strain the chest muscles and put unnecessary stress on the surgical site.
- Ignoring Signs of Complications: Be vigilant for any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, warmth, or discharge from the nipple area. If you notice any concerning symptoms, contact your surgeon promptly for evaluation and treatment.

FAQS
An inverted nipple is a condition in which the nipple is pulled inward into the breast instead of pointing outward. Surgery for inverted nipple correction is relatively simple. Your surgeon will cut around your nipple so that it’s free from the surrounding tissue, and re-stitch it so that it protrudes.
Inverted nipple surgery is usually performed under local or general anaesthetic. It is usually performed as day case surgery meaning you will be able to go home the same day as the procedure. The surgery takes between 30 minutes and 2 hours.
You will usually be able to go home later the same day, and can return to normal activities almost immediately but should restrain from heavy exercise for the first few weeks. You may be advised not to wear padded bras or tight tops for 10 – 14 days following surgery. This is to avoid compressing the nipple.
Suitable candidates for inverted nipple correction surgery are individuals bothered by the appearance of inverted nipples and desire a more natural and protruding nipple shape.
While inverted nipple correction surgery may result in some scarring, the scars are usually minimal and well-concealed within the natural contours of the nipple. Your surgeon will discuss scar management techniques during your consultation.
